How We Serve
Sharing The Gospel With First Nations Communities

Living Out Our Faith

When we respond to the call to serve and share God’s love with our brothers and sisters in remote communities, we open ourselves to walking humbly in step with the Holy Spirit. We are challenged to fully trust in God’s provision and protection as we prepare and journey. As we arrive in the communities bearing His name, we are welcomed. We come with open hands, ready to serve and share the joy of walking with Jesus. Building upon the foundation laid by past teams, we trust that the seeds of love we sow will be nurtured in God’s perfect timing by others.

Plan A Mission Trip

When invitation’s to visit a First Nations community is received we help put together a team of volunteers that usually consists of 4 to 12 members. The BCMBS staff will then organize travel, provide support for costs, and equip the teams with the materials and curriculum they need for the mission trip.. This can include Kids’ Club Kits, Bibles, and other items require to fulfill the invitations request.

Kids’ Club

The primary focus of every mission trip is to share the good news of Jesus with the communities children through Kid’s Club. Together with the Teams we prepare a Biblical theme to present to the children for a few hours every day they are in the community. This theme is introduced with the children through story time, puppet shows, music and singing, crafts, snack time, games and activities.

Kids’ Club takes up the majority of time on every mission trip and is well appreciated by our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in the communities.

Men & Women’s Bible Studies

The B.C Mission Boat provides teams with material to have a bible study for men and women. Often, the women’s bible study will be in conjunction with a craft or spa night.

Music Worship

When possible we go where people in the community can gather and sing worship songs together and hear a message. This is more easily facilitated when there is a pastor on the team, but we have lay services when there is no pastor on the team.

Elder Visits

We contact elders and shut ins in the community to arrange a home visit, usually a group of 2 or 3 members from the team go and visit people in their home.

Youth Activities

We gather together the youth to play a sport, typically basketball or soccer to strengthen the bonds of frienship between the youth and team.

Community Brunch Or Dinner

Teams plan and serve meals to the community. Sometimes we do a taco night or we have an Elder’s brunch. It is always a wonderful time to connect with the community and share stories.

Community Games Night

Often a well-attended event for the whole community, as it creates a fun atmosphere to connect that join old and young together.
